Cam Bryant ’22 Named to 2026 Brooks Wallace Player of the Year Award Watch List
Among this year's watch list is 2022 Country Day graduate Cam Bryant, a redshirt junior for the Ohio University Bobcats. To be named to this prestigious awards watch list is an incredible testament to the hard work Cam has put in throughout his career.

The College Baseball Foundation released its 2026 Brooks Wallace Player of the Year Award watch list, made up of the nation's top 100 collegiate shortstops. The award is based on both offensive and defensive numbers.
First given in 2004, the Brooks Wallace Award has recognized some of the best players in the game such as Alex Bregman (2013 winner, 3x MLB All-Sar, Golden Glove winner, 2x World Series Champion), Trea Turner (2014 winner, 2x MLB All-Star), and Dansby Swanson (2015 winner, 2x MLB All-Star, Golden Glove winner).

During his Country Day career, Cam was named captain his junior year (2021), when he led the team to a 22-9 record, winning the MVC Scarlett Championship and a District title. They fell short to CHCA 5-1 in the Regional final. He had the 4th most RBIs in the league with 28, and the 2nd most strikeouts with 66. Playing in 30 games, Cam led all starters in batting average with a .414 avg. He holds the program record for most strikeouts in a game with 17. Cam was named to first team MVC All-Conference and was recognized as the 11th best player in Cincinnati by The Cincinnati Enquirer in 2021.
After committing to Holy Cross in 2021, Cam began his college career in 2023, appearing in three games before breaking his hand, medically redshirting the year. During his sophomore season, he played in 31 games, making 22 starts. He drove in nine runs and posted a .944 fielding percentage. He was a 2x Patriot League Academic Honor Roll honoree.
Cam transferred to Ohio University in 2024 and appeared in 38 games during the 2025 season. The shortstop made a huge impact for the Bobcats during his first year, tallying 23 runs, 33 hits, 12 RBIs, and a .303 batting average – 4th best amongst rotating starters. In the field, he recorded 52 putouts and 74 assists with a .955 fielding percentage.
This season, Cam has started in every game for OU, one of four players to do so. In just 13 games, he's leading the team in RBIs with 11, nearly reaching last season's high of 12. Defensively, Cam has 24 putouts with 42 assists (team high), flexing a .957 fielding percentage. He leads the Mid-American Conference for most assists in a game with 10 versus West Virginia on 2/25.
