Bio

Steve Conner has coached track and field for 40 years, including the past 36 at Country Day. Beginning as a pole vault coach in 1984, he went on to lead middle school and assistant varsity teams before becoming girls varsity head coach in 2008, later combining the boys and girls programs in 2015. He has guided numerous athletes to conference and district championships, with 14 athletes or relays placing at the State meet including one State Champion, four runners-up, and two third-place finishers. Steve’s coaching honors include nine MVC Coach of the Year awards, eight Enquirer Coach of the Year recognitions, and the 2011 SWOTCCCA District Coach of the Year. A 1988 graduate of Miami University, where he assisted with the track & field program, he also teaches Physical Education at Country Day, earning the Pattison Distinguished Teacher Award in 2012, and coaches middle school football and gymnastics.
