Flag Football Splits Doubleheader
The flag football team went 1-1 last night, defeating Mercy McAuley 33–21 before falling to Roger Bacon 39–26.
In the first game against Mercy McAuley, the Nighthawks showcased a dynamic offensive attack led by Alyssa Easter '26, who threw for three touchdowns (13/16 passing), and added a receiving touchdown. Easter also made a major impact defensively with an interception returned 40 yards for a touchdown. Nicole Hardesty '27 was a top target, hauling in eight catches and three touchdowns, along with two extra-point conversions. Ellie Texter '26 contributed both as a passer (TD) and receiver (six catches), while Leah Coyle '26 added an interception, sack, and two tackles on defense.
In game two, the Nighthawks continued to put up strong offensive numbers despite the loss. Easter led the way again throwing for three touchdowns (16/23), while adding a receiving touchdown. Hardesty remained a key playmaker with nine catches and three touchdowns, and Texter added a passing touchdown along with three receptions. Defensively, Easter recorded two interceptions and two pass breakups, while Coyle (five tackles) and Gabby Yisreal '29 (three tackles, sack) anchored the effort.
